Our Applied Drug Development students develop the practical and professional skills utilized across the lifecycle of drug development, manufacturing, and ongoing safety management. This program prepares its students to compete for highly desirable drug development jobs in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and regulatory industries.

Le is a Scientist 3 at Genentech. She works in discovery formulation group and is interested in different in vitro assay for small molecule drug delivery. Le enjoys traveling and food tasting.

Kwabena Asante Mensah

Credentials: MS

Kwabena’s professional journey is deeply intertwined with his passion for applied drug development. The intricate process of translating scientific discoveries into tangible medications fascinates him, and he’s driven to contribute meaningfully to this field. One of Kwabena’s primary professional interests is in optimizing drug formulation. Kwabena is captivated by the science behind enhancing the efficacy and stability of medications, ensuring they can be delivered to patients in the most effective way possible. Furthermore, Kwabena is dedicated to advancing personalized medicine through his work. Tailoring treatments to individual patients based on genetic makeup and specific medical needs holds immense promise.

Zarni Chanapatdaychaporn

Credentials: BS

Zarni is a former Quality Control at Essential Industries. His goal is to become a Formulation Scientist or Regulatory Affairs Specialist, leveraging his quality control and lab technician experience alongside his education in Pharmaceutical Science and Applied Drug Development. Zarni is passionate about making meaningful contributions to health outcomes and aspire to work on innovative projects that ensure medication safety and efficacy, positively impacting lives globally.

Sebastian’s professional interests are to gain an understanding in the field of drug development in order to ready himself for a career in the field. His goals are not only to do well in his classes, but to also help make a difference outside the classroom.

Amanda Michelle Kauffman

Amanda is a Supervisor of Regulatory Affairs at Medline Industries. She is excited to figure that out more in the program and is happy to start in regulatory affairs and progress from there.

Ali Mahmoud

Credentials: BS

Ali is a Research Intern at Abbott Laboratories. Ali hopes the ADD program will provide him with an extensive education of the drug development process and allow him to utilize that knowledge to better the health of society. The pharmaceutical industry is constantly evolving in the service that is offer and Ali aims to help advance the industry to its full potential in the patient’s best interest.

Anjana is a Pharmacy Graduate who is passionate about the industry and scientific innovation. She desires leadership roles and strategic influence, aiming to develop research, decision-making and team leadership skills to address healthcare challenges and drive positive change.
