Fabian is currently working as a R&D chemist as well as project manager at U. Windmöller Innovation GmbH & Co. KG in Detmold, Germany. His work focuses primarily on the biotechnological transformation of plant oils into bio-polyols as sustainable precursors for polyurethanes, greases and ingredients in cosmetic or pharmaceutical formulations. Fabian would love to contribute to the discovery of new compounds or therapeutic applications. Insights gained along the way will help me to apply my knowledge to the US and European contexts in the future. Nowadays, his professional interests have shifted from the use of natural compounds in sustainable materials to the potential of plant- or fungi-derived compounds in healing human conditions of suffering like PTSD or treatment-resistant depression.
Outside of his professional activities, Fabian enjoys playing the guitar, drawing and painting, cooking, bouldering and hiking.
